Marchese Partners announces Computer Networks (CN) as their new external IT department. CN will provide them with the IT support their business requires as all of their architectural and interior designs are now done electronically using Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology.
Steve Zappia, Principal and Managing Director of Marchese Partners, spoke about their growing need for IT support “When we first started 16 years ago we only had one computer. All of our work was done on drawing-boards. After two or three years, we started investing in Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology. Today, we draw everything electronically and have become more and more reliant on IT.”
The new versions of the CAD software require more memory and more powerful machines to run on. Marchesa Partners engaged Computer Networks to assist them with the transitions in their technological journey.
“Storing data has become a huge issue. Every time we create a drawing or send and receive emails, so much data needs to be stored. We’ve gone through multiple PCs as they have become obsolete, replacing them probably every three to four years. PCs simply go out of date, are no longer fast enough, or software gets updated” said Zappia.
CN provides Marchese Partners with a comprehensive IT support service that includes fortnightly visits. On each visit a CN representative ensures the network systems are running smoothly, makes any adjustments to IT systems, and rectifies any issues with workstations, PCs and other IT/media technology such as presentation screens and projectors.
Zappia explains, “Basically, they manage all of our IT equipment and are integral to keeping these machines running. As with anything in business, it’s the individual people you’re dealing with who you need to rely on. [The CN representative] has been outstanding… When we have an issue, even if sometimes that issue becomes a bit difficult to resolve, [he] always seems to find a solution in the end. I think that’s a very positive attribute that Computer Networks provides us.”
